What is the Helium network and why should I care?

Perhaps you found us because you already know all you need to know about the Helium network and earning money from hosting a hotspot, let us explain things in more detail for you.

Each Helium hotspot helps build the network

Hosts connect a Helium hotspot to their broadband connection and this allows a whole universe of devices securely connect and send their information back. Typically this is devices like sensors or GPS devices, they report back their current readings and get instructions from the company that owns them.

The Helium network is composed of thousands of hotspots attached to the internet, each hotspot has an antenna that provides miles of low power LongFi coverage to these devices all around your location.

For providing these devices with the tiny amount of bandwidth they need to send back their data over LongFi each host earns 'rewards' in the form of a Crypto currency coin called $HNT.

As a host with us you don't have to worry about all of that, you just need to plug in the hotspot, follow a few simple instructions and then we will pay you out in good old £ GBP each month.
An example of a Helium miner, there are a number of approved manufacturers so your unit may look slightly different.
Hotspots typically cost several hundred pounds and are often in very short supply. As a 'fleet' provider we offer you a hotspot for FREE.

The reason we can provide you a device for free is that we have built up the expertise to understand where the best locations for a hotspot should be and how to configure the device to make sure it earns a reliable return.

Like they always say in property circles, the most important thing is location, location, location!

So we provide the tech and expertise and you provide the location and therefore we make sure you keep the majority of the returns.

There is really no downside for you.

Frequently asked questions

Will this use a lot of my broadband bandwidth?
Not at all, only a tiny amount is needed as the IOT devices on the network are typically sending little text updates and getting similar messages back.
Don't crypto devices use loads of electricity?
A typical Helium miner uses about the same power as running a single small lightbulb each month, you wont even notice it on your bill.
Do I need to be great with tech?
Don't worry, we take on all the tech stuff for you. As long as you're comfortable rebooting your broadband router etc you will be fine.
I don't like the idea of allowing these devices to use my internet?
The devices do not use your internet at all, the hotspot manages all of these messages back to Helium and they are then sent onto whoever owns the device sending the message. It's all quite secure and safe.
