For every host that applies for a FREE Helium hotspot we consider the application and will let you know the status of your application as soon as we have reviewed all the data.
Make sure you've done your checks
These are the things we look for when we are verifying if you're in a good place to be one of our hosts.
No other hotspots within 300m
If an existing hotspot is within 300m we are unlikely to help grow the Helium networks coverage and so unlikely to get the rewards we would both like.
At least 4 hotspots within 2km
The Helium network rewards coverage and so being able to connect to other nearby hotspots helps verify the coverage of the network.
Good line of sight to hotspots
The hotspots connect through LongFi so it's better if the hotspot is higher up and therefore can get uninterrupted line of sight connection to other nearby hotspots.
Good broadband connection
The hotspots give IOT devices access to the wider internet by providing access from the Helium LongFi network onto the wider internet. Only a tiny bandwidth is needed but a reliable broadband connection helps.
